Confronting the Global Forced Migration Crisis (CSIS)

This particular report is a rare instance where the program trusted me to design something out-of-the-box as opposed to the standard one or two column on white.

Working on this I knew I wanted to capture the continuing movement of migrants. No two pages are alike as no two journeys are alike. The white and colored spaces shift along with the use of columns, drop caps, graphics, and headers. To illustrate how migrants are drifting and not anchored to anywhere, I intentionally had text and various elements bleed off the page as if the elements are floating and slowly shifting as well.

The color color palette was inspired by the journeys of the migrants over land and sea (yellow/beige for the deserts and dirt; blue for the water of seas and rain).

Art directed and designed this report for the CSIS Project on Prosperity and Development Program.
